The WannaCry ransomware attack was a May 2017 worldwide cyberattack by the WannaCry ransomware cryptoworm, which targeted computers running the Microsoft Windows operating system by encrypting data and demanding ransom payments in the Bitcoin cryptocurrency. WannaCry-Ransomeware

Are you protected?

Ransomeware can be particularly destructive since it makes your data unavailable by encrypting it.  The bad news is that after paying the ransome of upwards of $300, the data will most probably still be lost.
